What is SwapGo?

There is still no proper single source for cash exchange.

Where in your city you can actually swap the currency you need, at what rate, who works with cash, who can exchange cash to crypto (and back), what reviews they have – all of this is still scattered across chats, forums and random bots. Every time you need to exchange money, it turns into a quest.

These are the situations I built SwapGo.me for:

  • you are a tourist and want to exchange local currency to USD/EUR without a ridiculous spread, but all you see around you are random exchangers and shady rates;
  • you live in a country with an “official” rate that has nothing to do with the real market, and you need a live cash rate;
  • you need to turn fintech or crypto into cash, the amount is small, big services ignore you, while in reality half the city changes cash hand-to-hand, but there is no map of this market;
  • you live in a smaller city where it is unclear who can exchange a rare currency at all and on what terms;
  • you want to send money to relatives: you give cash to a local counterparty, they send the money to a card/wallet in front of you – classic cash P2P, but built entirely on trust and word of mouth.

I did the same myself: digging through forums, chats, local channels, comparing rates manually, trying to understand who could be trusted. And every new trip or move – the same story again. At some point it felt strange that there was still no normal tool instead of this mess.
