What is Suvadu?
Suvadu (Tamil: "Trace") replaces your shell's built-in history with a SQLite-backed store, giving you structured storage, millisecond-precision timestamps, and a modern interactive search UI — across every terminal, IDE, and AI agent you use.
Unlike cloud-based tools, Suvadu is completely local-only. No account, no sync, no data leaves your machine. Every command gets a structured record with working directory, exit code, duration, executor identity, and session context.
Key features:
- Full-screen TUI search with fuzzy matching, syntax highlighting, filters, and detail pane
- AI agent monitoring — auto-detects and risk-assesses commands from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider, and more
- Activity stats dashboard with heatmap, sparklines, and hourly distribution
- Secrets redaction — auto-detects and redacts API keys and tokens before storage
- Session replay, tagging, bookmarks, and notes
- Smart arrow keys with frecency ranking
- 3 built-in themes with hot-swap
- Shell alias suggestions based on history analysis
- Export/import (JSONL, CSV, JSON, zsh_history)
- Signed self-update with Minisign verification
Works with Zsh and Bash on macOS and Linux. Install via Homebrew, Cargo, or direct download.
