What is Speakey?

Speakey is a real-time dictation app that runs entirely on your machine. It uses faster-whisper with CUDA GPU acceleration for sub-second transcription latency. Hold CapsLock, speak, and text inserts wherever your cursor is — any app, any text field. CapsLock is the default because honestly, what else were you using it for? You can remap it to any key if you're one of the three people who actually need CapsLock.

Everything runs locally on your NVIDIA GPU. No audio is sent to the cloud, no accounts required, no telemetry. The only network call is a one-time license activation — after that, disconnect your internet and it works the same.

Built with Rust (Tauri 2.0) and a full audio DSP pipeline: adaptive mono mixdown, DC offset removal, 80Hz high-pass filter, soft limiter, and a 16-tap windowed-sinc resampler. 13 languages supported out of the box.

One-time purchase. No subscription. Free 15-day trial with no credit card required.
