POX added SoundTap as alternative to Record Apps
What is SoundTap?
SoundTap is a software application that captures and converts any audio playing through your computer into mp3 or wav files. It can record internet radio webcasts, streaming audio broadcasts, and audio from conferences, podcasts, and webinars. It can also convert audio from less common formats using a specific player and record VoIP phone calls made with applications like Skype. It ensures direct digital recording of audio without any quality loss and offers a range of codec and compression options. SoundTap is compatible with all popular media players and softphones. It can also record and save music, lectures, live webinars, create podcasts from Skype calls, and simultaneously record audio from your computer and microphone.

Comments and Reviews
The free version is really a feature-limited trial that will not let you do much of anything useful.
Won't let you do what? Will it let you record?
As of this post I cannot find a free version. The 14-day free trial version worked fine for me, allowing me to record audio directly from websites, but I found no way to continue using SoundTap after the trial expired, other than buying it. The current discounted price of $30 isn't bad, but I am trying out open source alternatives first.
The free version is lame. It puts "Please purchase soundtap" in your recordings at a set interval.
