What is soShelf?

soShelf is like self-storage 2.0 - share your things with family and friends, and when they do the same, you get access to a raft of things that you can borrow, swap or take - all for free.

Many of us have things we rarely use - a tent, a sleeping bag, a deep-frier - that takes up space in our homes. We don't use them, but we don't want to get rid of them either - they are good things. At the same time, we would gladly lend them to the people we know and trust - our relatives, good friends, co-workers or neighbours. However, they don't know we have these things that are available to them. soShelf provides this visibility. We share our things within our social circles, and we see things shared with us, thus getting access to those things for borrowing or perhaps taking. If we need something - a tent for a hike - we can simply borrow it from someone we know as opposed to buying it and, quite likely, using it only once.

The app can be used by anyone - the father can share tools and camping equipment, the son can share books, media, video games and sporting equipment, the mother can share her clothes, accessories or kitchen appliances, etc.
