What is SolidWorks Simulation?
SolidWorks Simulation is designed to validate design quality and performance before production. It provides digital testing tools for models to identify ways to reduce weight, lower material costs, improve durability and manufacturability, optimize margins, and compare design alternatives.
Features of SolidWorks Simulation include a General Spring Connector for creating custom spring connectors between surfaces, improving simulation performance and accuracy. It also has an Enhanced Pin Connector for better solution performance when using the distributed Connection Type for pin connectors.
The software can handle large models with a UI option that speeds up study setup times by excluding all but selected bodies. This helps users concentrate on key parts of the simulation study. It also includes an Enhanced Node-to-Surface Bonded Interactions With Offset feature for better contact results accuracy in Mid Surface mesh studies and an Enhanced Surface-to-Surface Bonded Interactions feature for improved accuracy and performance of various surfaces. SolidWorks Simulation also provides Mesh Performance Improvements for studies with many identical parts with curved surfaces, using a high-quality mesh.
