SnapLab information
What is SnapLab?
SnapLab is a desktop application that allows you to repair corrupted MP4 files and convert video, image, and audio files—all within a single app.
All processing is performed entirely on the local machine, so even sensitive professional footage or personal data that cannot be uploaded to the cloud can be handled safely and securely.
Key features of SnapLab include: • Repair of corrupted MP4 files • Multi-format conversion for video, image, and audio files • Audio watermarking (audio-based watermark insertion)
Among these, the audio watermarking feature is relatively uncommon and is useful for managing narration tracks, sample audio distribution, and similar use cases.
SnapLab is a Japan-developed, domestically produced software, and in addition to standard MP4 files, it has a strong track record of repairing RSV files generated by Sony cameras when recording issues occur.
RSV files are temporary files created when recording is interrupted due to issues such as power loss or unexpected shutdowns. These files cannot be played back or edited as normal video files in their original state; however, SnapLab is capable of recovering and restoring such files.
A trial version is available for basic functionality testing, making SnapLab suitable for a wide range of users—from video creators and web designers to general users who work with photos, videos, and audio files.
