Siril is described as 'Astronomical image processing tool, able to convert, pre-process images, help aligning them automatically or manually, stack them and enhance final images' and is an app. There are nine alternatives to Siril for Windows, Linux, Mac and Web-based. The best Siril alternative is DeepSkyStacker, which is free. Other great apps like Siril are FITS Liberator, SAOImageDS9, Regim and PixInsight.

FITS Liberator GUI image processing software has meant that it is even easier and faster to create color images using raw observations from a range of telescopes.

SAOImageDS9 is an astronomical imaging and data visualization application. DS9 supports FITS images and binary tables, multiple frame buffers, region manipulation, and many scale algorithms and colormaps.

Regim makes some processing steps that are unique to astronomical images a bit easier. These steps are calibration (dark and flat), deblooming, registration, combination, color calibration, gradient removal and some more.

PixInsight is an advanced image processing platform specialized in astrophotography and other technical imaging fields, constantly pushing the boundaries of astronomical image processing with the most powerful toolset available.

The Astro App is a tool for exploring the night sky and tracking celestial events. It's primarily targeted for amateur astrophotographers.

Astroart is a software for image processing, image analysis, astrometry, photometry, camera and telescope control.

Fitswork is a windows image processing program, mainly designed for astronomic purposes. It contains batch processing, histogram functions, many filters, etc. Fitswork works entirely in floating-point arithmetic.
