What is Simple Scrobbler?
Simple Scrobbler (SS) is a simple app that scrobbles music listened to on an Android phone. Scrobbling means submitting listening information to Last.fm (and optionally/additionally Libre.fm and ListenBrainz) when you play a track, and you can then get music recommendations and view you listening history and statistics at Last.fm.

Straightforward. Simple (once setup). Does it's thing in the background (unless you want to "Love" a song— press the button on the notification or in the app)... Set it & Forget it on Android 9 not a single hookup in a year+ aside from API issues (on the servers' ends if I recall; setup can be inherently wonky for someone trying to find and use all the services available in the app to receive scrobbles– namely the Libre.fm or Listenbrainz server i got hung up on and gave up on. User error I am sure)
(¡)Be careful(!) what you allow the app to Ssrobble (e.g. websites you visit, etc. - it'll catch everything you throw at it it seems... media player apps, streaming apps, web browsers, ... probably even audio recorder recordings if you play the recordings...), or more importantly where to scrobble... IIRC Last.fm and ListenBrainz both have open databases of user's activity. Libre.fm might too, though I seem to recall I only turned off last.fm and Listenbrainz scrobbling due to privacy concerns.
Great scrobbler for Android. It automatically detects music apps, works offline and can scrobble to last.fm / libre.fm & listenbrainz at the same time.
