A very good comparison of nearly all URL-shorteners I found in german language: http://hjacob.com/blog/2009/07/url-shortener-redirects/ There I have found a the very useful online URL-shortener, where you can FREELY CHOOSE the NAME of a SHORT-URL ending with *.tk:
Such individually named short-URLs will be deleted if there a less than 25 clicks to it in 90 days. You can download a exe-file for Windows installation and Microsoft Internet Explorer. But Installation did not work with my Vista 64 bit. I tested the online URL-generation and it worked very well and is very easy to use: http://www.tkit.tk
I use this extremely practical universal URL-Shortener with very much pleasure with setting bit.ly. Also other settings like tinyurl are possible. Simply right mouse click in the Firefox tab. of the Internet site, and click "Shorten This tab. URL (bit.ly)". Then instantly everybody can click this page also from other computers under the new Short URL. One sees the new Short URL also immediately in the address line of Firefox. Simply a must for every Firefox Internet user.
