A blight in the FOSS space. Truckloads of features are walled off for paid licenses, and it constantly nags for a paid Premium license, which are just thinly veiled subscription (only include 1 year of updates). Real perpetual license with actual lifetime updates can cost thousand of Euros, which is pretty outrageous especially for a supposedly Open-source software.

What is Sandboxie Plus?
Sandboxie Plus is sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie Plus is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos under the name Sandboxie.
Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer. Secure Web Browsing: Running your Web browser under the protection of Sandboxie means that all malicious software downloaded by the browser is trapped in the sandbox and can be discarded trivially. Enhanced Privacy: Browsing history, cookies, and cached temporary files collected while Web browsing stay in the sandbox and don't leak into Windows. 16 languages. Secure E-mail: Viruses and other malicious software that might be hiding in your email cant break out of the sandbox and cant infect your real system. Windows Stays Lean: Prevent wear-and-tear in Windows by installing software into an isolated sandbox.

Comments and Reviews
A lightweight and fast sandbox environment capable of running such complex applications as for example a web browser.
English version SandBoxie Plus was very upset. So much time wasted and wasted. And so, let's start with its shortcomings:
Of the pros only here:
Original, Russian version Был очень растроен SandBoxie Plus. Столько времени потратил и впустую. И так, начнем с его недостатков:
Из плюсов только вот:
Sandboxie has a lot of settings, and it needs some configuration. For example, with your concern about access to private data, you could add the AppData folder to the "Blocked Access" section so that no sandboxed application can read from it, and separate user files will be created within the sandbox.
It's a question of the underlying concept. Sandbox solutions by default work in a way that prevents permanent modification of the host system, while still enabling access to the host's storage and configuration. That's by design. If you need a solution that prevents direct file access by default, virtualization might be a better option.

Sandboxie Plus is pretty much a case of a tycoon taking an software open-sourced at the end of its life and turning it into a money making venture.
It's free and open source, and works fine, but I don't personally use it now that VM Workstation Pro is now free (a bit tricky to get, you have to make account first to find the download).
But if you want to run risky apps this is a good app to do it on, as long as you don't have file sharing or other connections between your system enabled.
I was a supporter of this software. But now this guy is going crazy. Raising prices from 20$ to 30$ to 40$ in two years - for the smallest package. I now went back to virtualization software instead.
Although the idea is good, the reported software errors are not rectified.
You can report errors via the software if they are detected by the application. Unfortunately, certain applications cannot be installed in the sandbox, which is unfortunate. Furthermore, there is no complete installation log for the sandbox applications.
There is no way to tell which app should run in the sandbox and which should not, even though one app is required by the other in the sandbox.
The prices asked are high, 60€ per year or 1000€ once. I expect more for this amount! That's why I can't award more than one star.
Sandboxie is now an open source project.
