Rodent is a client for Mastodon (https://joinmastodon.org/), a social network similar to X (aka Twitter) or Bluesky but totally distributed, open, and owned by the community. Rodent supports many of the common Mastodon features and adds a few twists that differentiate it from other Mastodon clients. To highlight some:
- No-FOMO button: a button that keeps track of the number of unread posts and prevents the fear of missing out.
- Home summary: click on no-FOMO button to access this pannel that lists new posts condensed by author or hashtag.
- Access instances without login in (if the instance allows it).
- Multi-instance view: quick flick between instances.
- Nested and compact replies.
- Support for lists, including edition and creation.
- Light and dark design to choose from.
- Receive push notifications when other users interact with you.
- Write posts with hashtag autocompletion, custom emojis, etc.
- Understand the context of a reply with the embeded parent post.
