What is Reflectre?

What It Does

Reflectre listens to you sing or play an instrument and translates your efforts into an on-screen environment so that you can actually see what pitch you’re producing. This easy to view program is comfortably visible from a distance and the large readout and hi-contrast color schemes help to minimize eye fatigue and maximize visibility. You can work on note attacks, releases, trills, vibrato, and other attributes with ease–even on the smallest screens. It’s an extremely useful application for the emerging musician.

Ease Of Use

Load the program and start singing. Reflectre reads out note names and produces a pitch graph that is as intuitive as it is elegant. If there’s a custom setting you prefer then just click the options button and dial up the settings that suit you. Click on/off for keyboard, staff, hertz, and note readout. We just read you half the manual but it should probably be read again anyway.

Who Needs It

The program is designed primarily for beginning singers, but early string and brass students can also benefit. Really, anyone who has to manufacture a single pitch or tone rather than striking one as on a piano would make a strong candidate for Reflectre. If you play a woodwind or any mono timbre instrument and are having trouble identifying pitch, you could probably use a copy too. A must for your musical tool belt.
