    PowerBASIC is described as ', formerly Turbo Basic, is the brand of several commercial compilers by PowerBASIC Inc. that compile a dialect of the BASIC programming language. There are both MS-DOS and Windows versions, and two kinds of the latter: Console and Windows'. There are more than 10 alternatives to PowerBASIC for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac, Online / Web-based and Android. The best alternative is PureBasic, which is free. Other great apps like PowerBASIC are FreeBASIC (Free, Open Source), Xojo (Paid), Lobster (Free, Open Source) and QB64 (Free, Open Source).
