I like potrace because it works well to trace a raster image (especially graphics) and create a useful vector file. It is much simpler to use with the Rasterbater (NOT Rasterbator) GUI. After using the Rasterbater GUI awhile, it will become simple to quickly and effectively generate quality black and white traces of your drawings and text. In addition, it is much less expensive than Adobe Illustrator - its FREE.
