Podsumer information
What is Podsumer?
Podsumer is a self-hosted podcatcher prioritizing privacy. It allows individuals to host and listen to their own podcast content through a web interface. The software supports OPML export to subscribe to mirrored feeds, preventing download and listening metrics from being associated with a user's device. It can also route traffic through a VPN using tools like Gluetun to minimize digital footprint.
The software runs from a single docker image with a single tenant SQLite backend, does not collect data, and can proxy and cache podcast feeds. It supports per-episode artwork, audio file streaming, and OPML import and export functionality.
Podsumer also offers a single file library option for easy library migration and the option to save media to disk for faster backups. It automatically refreshes feeds and checks for updates. The software is free from third-party dependencies and has a content-focused user interface.
