What is PI-xel?
PI-xel is using machine vision and image processing/filtering algorithms to make images more compressible and still preserving all relevant visual details. Unlike other image optimization techniques (which usually just decrease JPEG encoding quality factor or other encoding parameters) we are transforming the image from the very beginning, therefore making other JPEG optimization techniques fully compatible with our approach.
The technology is planed to be further extended to video and audio processing.
