What is PastReads?

PastReads is a software tool designed to capture and preserve reading insights from multiple sources. Users can import highlights and notes from Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, physical books, and web articles through a Chrome extension. This makes it easier to keep all reading material and annotations in one place, regardless of format.

Once imported, the platform provides tools to organize and revisit content. Highlights can be managed with notes, tags, collections, favorites, and archives, and are searchable through a full-text search feature. PastReads also supports automatic cover image fetching, a dark-mode interface, and automated recaps. Through a gamified reminder system, users can receive periodic selections of past highlights to reinforce memory and encourage reflection. Additionally, the “Chat to your highlights” feature enables users to ask questions, generate summaries, and identify patterns in their reading history.
