What is Orpheus Network?

Greek and Roman mythology tell the story of a Thracian prince who charmed all living things with his music. He was revered as the greatest of all poets and musicians. Some stories say his father was the god Apollo. Others say this father was King Oeagrus. All agree that Apollo gave him the gift of a golden lyre.

His name was Orpheus. The gods created the lyre, it was said, but Orpheus perfected it.

We named this site in honor of Orpheus because we owe a debt to the sites that came before us - Oink, What.CD and Apollo. Our aim is to improve on what they created. None of this is possible without you. We welcome you. We will strive every day to be the best home for the music you love.
