What is OpenPanel?
OpenPanel is a Linux web hosting control panel that offers a cost-effective Virtual Private Server experience. It provides resource limiting, enhanced security, and allows users to install services, set PHP limits, and configure components like Redis and Elasticsearch.
OpenPanel offers tools for building and scaling a cluster, including running Nginx and Apache web servers, domain name management, file uploading, PHP version management, NodeJS and Python application management, and more. It includes automatic WordPress installer, MySQL and phpMyAdmin management, automatic SSL generation and renewal, object caching, SSH and Web Terminal access, server configuration control, cron job scheduling, DNS zone editing, resource usage monitoring, visitor reporting, activity logging, and account setting customization.
For server management, OpenPanel provides server deployment, resource usage management, web server switching, configuration editing, resource usage statistics monitoring, service management, smart notifications, and terminal command execution via OpenCLI. The user interface is customizable, accessible on all devices, and includes multi-language support, keyboard shortcuts, and a built-in dark mode. User management features include account suspension/deletion, package upgrade/downgrade, dedicated IP address allocation, impersonation, and the choice of Apache or Nginx per user.
OpenPanel prioritizes security with containerized user accounts and resource limiting. It offers automatic Let's Encrypt certificates, one-click ModSecurity activation, firewall management, Two-Factor Authentication, IP blocking, and limited shell access for end users. The admin panel can be disabled while preserving core functionality. OpenPanel integrates with WHMCS, FOSSBilling, and third-party systems via a RESTful API.
