What is OpenCTM?

The included 3D file converter (ctmconv) has the following features: Supports the following file formats (both read and write): OpenCTM (.ctm) COLLADA 1.4/1.5 (.dae) Stereolithography (.stl) Stanford triangle format (.ply) 3D Studio (.3ds) Wavefront geometry (.obj) LightWave object (.lwo) Geomview object (.off) Provides full control of the OpenCTM compression parameters. Can scale and transform the converted mesh. Highly portable (works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, OpenSolaris, etc).

The included 3D file viewer (ctmviewer) has the following features: OpenGL accelerated interactive 3D view: GLSL based phong shading Texturing Vertex colors Rapid loading - perfect for previewing 3D files. Can both load and save files in all the file formats that the converter tool supports, making it useful as a quick conversion tool. Highly portable (works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, OpenSolaris, etc).
