Software is completely free. They charge only on the professional Support and learning Workshops and so on. This is a very underrated piece of software, you can build your own ERP solution. Just as you need it. You can do simple ERP in a few days or a more advanced in a few weeks. However, the learning curve is pretty high, but they provide many information on the basics for free, and there is a pretty active forum too.
The installation process is not very well documentet or lets say very complicated. There is of course documentation on the installation, but it is not structurized very well. It is hard for somebody who wants to dive in, to figure out which Java version suits, how to properly set up the database, and so on... to get up and running.
