Npcap is described as 'Packet capture (and sending) library for Windows by the Nmap Project. It implements the open Pcap API using a custom Windows kernel driver alongside our Windows build of the excellent libpcap library' and is an app in the network & admin category. There are four alternatives to Npcap for Windows, Linux, Android and Mac. The best Npcap alternative is WinPcap, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Npcap are PcapPlusPlus, WinDivert and Win10Pcap.

PcapPlusPlus is a multiplatform C++ library for capturing, parsing and crafting of network packets. It is designed to be efficient, powerful and easy to use.

WinDivert allows user-mode applications to capture/modify/drop network packets sent to/from the Windows network stack.
Win10Pcap is written as a personal project by Daiyuu Nobori, a Ph.D student of Computer Science of University of Tsukuba, Japan. The many parts of Win10Pcap was from WinPcap.
