What is Modoboa?
Modoboa is a mail hosting and management platform including a modern and simplified Web User Interface. It provides useful components such as an administration panel or a webmail.
Modoboa integrates with well known software such as Postfix or Dovecot. A SQL database (MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite) is used as a central point of communication between all components.
Modoboa is developed with modularity in mind, expanding it is really easy. Actually, all current features are extensions.
It is written in Python 3 and uses the Django, jQuery and Bootstrap frameworks.

Comments and Reviews
I have long used postfix dovecot, I shopped around recently since it's all on trusty 14.04 still.
in history I have basically tried it all and manually set it all up with server side sieve, rainloop, roundcube, spamassasin, milters, dkim ...
I have tried many of the out of the box solutions like mail in a box modoboa citidel iredmail zimbra etc etc etc ...
in the end there are 3 that I considered for my production server.
1 .From scratch with some admin interfaces slapped on it... (did not want this more then anything)
Modoboa, This one was a toss up with mailcow, I really liked their development model and feature offered through crowd source model. the fact it's built natively in python3... It is really nice
MailCow, very active community, officially supported ansible roles and docker ... I did love modoboa but opted for the polish and believe the technical debt incurred will be the least over time.
I did choose MailCow in the end.. and it was a coin toss.. I was really happy with what modoboa offered. The easy admin interface providing all the DNS records to be copied and pasted, LDAP integration ...
Hi mmgregoire
Do you have an email project in production?
Can you find out what it is?
There are so many variables, that I find myself confused and I hope you can give me your opinion.
Thanks in any way for your comment.

Very easy to install and administer. I highly recommend :)
Simple installation, user-friendly admin panel, easy backup/restore routines.
