What is MO Chain?
Mo Chain is based on a PoA consensus algorithm that allows for shorter block times and lower fees. Staking's most bonded validator candidates will become validators and produce blocks. Security, stability, and chain finality are guaranteed by the double-sign detection and other slashing logic.
EVM-compatible smart contracts and protocols are also supported by Mo Chain. Because of inherent interoperability capabilities, cross-chain transfer and other communication are possible.
MoChain is: EVM-compliant: Supports all existing Ethereum tools while providing faster finality and lower transaction fees. Interoperable: Includes efficient native dual chain communication; Designed for scaling high-performance dApps that require a quick and seamless user experience. Proof of Staked Authority is distributed with on-chain governance, bringing decentralization and community members. MO, as the native token, will serve as both smart contract execution gas and staking tokens.
Concepts Consensus MoChain consensus engine was created with the following purposes in mind:
Wait a few blocks for confirmation (should be less than Ethereum 1.0), no fork is preferable in most circumstances. The block time should be less than 5 seconds, like it was in Ethereum 1.0. There is no inflation because the block reward is transaction gas fees. As compatible as Ethereum is. With stakes and governance as strong as COSMOS. Geth implements two types of consensus engines: ethash (PoW-based) and clique (base on PoA). Because MO gives up PoW, Ethash is not a good fit. Clique has a shorter blocking time and is immune to 51% attacks while modifying the underlying data structure as little as feasible to maintain existing Ethereum client compatibility. The centralization and lack of substantial staking and governance capability on-chain are PoA's shortcomings. MoChain, on the other hand, is built on Cosmos, which has an implemented staking and governance structure.
As a result, we suggest a consensus engine that:
MoChain handles TC's staking and governance. MO's consensus engine remains as simple as a clique. We researched other prominent PoA consensus implementations and discovered that Bor follows a similar approach as described above. To fulfill all of these goals, we will take a few ideas from Bor and propose a new consensus engine.
Infrastructure Components MoChain is in charge of holding the staking function in order to determine validators of MO through independent election, and the election workflow is carried out using the staking procedure.
