What is MiniWOL?
miniWOL, a free and easy application (Windows, Linux and MacOS) to send a Wake On LAN to your network device(s), so you can wake them up from your computer. The application tries to make setting things up as easy as possible, with tools like automatically retrieving the needed MAC address (based on IP Address, or devices found in the network). It daily lives in the Systray (Windows), or menubar (macOS), and something comparable like that for certain Linux distros as well.

I like it because it's cross-platform and powerful.

it's a small app that sends a magic packet. perfect.
I wake up my NAS every three months to backup my regular filer. The filer has daily backup. So the NAS don't has to run all the time ;-))
