What is Memodiction.com?

Imagine a dictionary that helps you remember words better.

What is MemoDiction? MemoDiction is a dictionary that helps you remember words better. It is a collection of words that are commonly used in the English language, along with their definitions, synonyms, antonyms, examples in sentences, mnemonics for remembering, etymology and history, idiomatic expressions/phrases, regional variations (if applicable), and common misconceptions/errors.

Why MemoDiction? Remembering words is hard. It’s even harder to remember words that you don’t use often. We believe that the second-best way to remember words is through mnemonics. Also, it is difficult to understand the nuances of a word without knowing its etymology and history. MemoDiction aims to solve these problems by providing a comprehensive list of words along with their mnemonics, etymology and history, and more. This can help you not only prepare for exams like the SAT, GRE, and GMAT, but also strengthen your vocabulary in general.

How to use MemoDiction? For now, you can use the search bar to search for words. We are working on adding more features to the website, so stay tuned! If you have some better Mnemonics for a particular word you can submit them in the comments of that word's page.
