    Compared to MathType, the LibreOffice formula editor is complete garbage. It's laughable to suggest this as a reasonable alternative.

    It does have the ability to edit equations, albeit via LaTeX. And it is a really lovely tool!

    As far as I know, Overleaf is very convenient (I use it a lot) but has no graphical editing of formulas.
