It's good but its usability and UX in general has bad aspects. Like, I want to use OpenStreetMap, but it doesn't come with localized names even if in OSM it has. Also, I put it to download a region but it seems it failed to do so and didn't give any feedback on completion rate etc... So its usability and interoperability have to improve a lot.
As f now it's the most complete free/open-source alternative to Google Earth... but it's sooooo much behind in terms of features and efficiency. The search feature is not usable in its current state and does not always show the same results to the same query. Also for some reason it seems not all of the OSM map is included into Marble. Doesn' it update automatically ?
After a little fun with the historical map, Marble reveals itself as not very useful -or even usable- in its current state...
