What is Leeloo AAC - Autism Speech App?
Leeloo is an app designed for non-verbal children to communicate with others. It uses AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) principles, effective techniques for autism communication therapy. The app features a card for every word a child might need daily, each matched with a clear vector image to represent the word or phrase.
Leeloo also includes text-to-speech functionality. When a card is selected, it reveals phrase options that can be read aloud by a text-to-speech robot. The app is designed primarily for children with mental, learning, or behavior disorders, including but not limited to Autism, Aspergers syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Down syndrome, Aphasia, Speech apraxia, ALS, MDN, and Cerebral palsy.
Leeloo comes with pre-configured cards for preschool and school-aged children, but can be customized for adults or older individuals with similar disorders or within the mentioned spectrum. The basic functionality of Leeloo is free, with optional premium assistive card packs available for purchase to enhance the user's experience.
