I like Lazesoft Recovery Suite because I recovered a lost Windows 8.1 password on a deceased friends computer so her family could access her computer.
I really hate freemium crap... attempting to figure out how to repair my Windows and it's just like "nah, you gotta pay for that." So, no registry repair, no boot repair... No BCD Doctor... the "1 click" recovery just sits there doing nothing with 1 second on the timer, never goes up or down, so I'm really not even 100% certain whether it's doing anything or just sitting there, whether it should be going up (I think) or down..??
What's free about the repair part of this program, which is what it identifies as? (That's an actual question, if anyone likes this program enough to answer it.) This tool is either too confusing or really not helpful for me personally to repair my computer. The data recovery and password features may work great, I haven't had the chance to test them yet, it just makes me angry when a program doesn't do the main feature for free but calls itself free. So, I can't recommend this as a Windows Repair Tool for anyone who wants a free software. I will update my review if the data recovery or password features work better, if I get a chance to test those.(I am currently planning to at least test the data recovery feature.)
Start with
TestDisk instead.
I've tried it to recover booting ability one time, and a corrupted partition another time, and haven't had much luck. It was very very slow in recovery and it just got some files.. it didn't really brings things back. This may be good for password recovery, but I won't try it first for partition recovery again.
I used Lazesoft Recovery Suite (Home Edition) for generating and recovering the partitions images on my Pc (which runs Win 7 64 bit). This software is easy to use, but I found some flaws in it. 1) When the first emergency boot media is generated, Lazesoft requires a Internet connection for downloading the WinPE files from MS website (this behavour is correct but Lazesoft does not warn the user about this requirement) 2) On my Pc, Lazesoft can't create any USB bootable pendrive. I solved this problem generating a bootable ISO image, then I transfered it to the USB pendrive with Rufus (a third part utility). 3) If I save two partition images in the same .lvi file, Lazesoft can't recovery them to the partitions. I must save each single image in a dedicated .lvi file.
Great software, one of the only ones that does some actually free recovery
Perfect recovery solution. It saved me twice with password lost and data lost issues.
