What is Insite Search?

OVERVIEW

Search Site provides facilities to search within the current site using the default search engine, or using a one-off specified search engine (Firefox 34.0 or later).

USER REFERENCE

Initiating Searches

Searches within the current site can be initiated from the search bar, the search panel (Firefox 34.0 or later) or the context menu; or by drag-and-drop into the search bar (Firefox 36.0.4 or earlier).

Default Search Domain

There is an option to specify the default search domain as either Within subdomain or Within entire domain.

The Search Site icons in the search bar and on the context menu will change to indicate the default search domain.

Search Bar Icon

To initiate a search of the default domain using the icon in the search bar, first type the search terms into the search bar and then click on the Search Site icon.

To initiate a search of a specific domain using the icon in the search bar, first type the search terms into the search bar, then right-click on the Search Site icon, and then in the popup menu select either Within subdomain or Within entire domain.

Search Bar Shortcuts

To initiate a search of the default domain using a keyboard shortcut in the search bar, first type the search terms into the search bar and then press Ctrl+Enter.

To initiate a search of the other (non-default) domain using a keyboard shortcut in the search bar, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter instead of Ctrl+Enter.
