What is IncrediBots?
Series of physics sandbox games where players create and share machines (robots, excavators, pinball, catapults) and challenges (obstacle course level, target practice, games) using basic shapes, joints, pistons, thrusters, cannons, bombs and other objects.
Basic shapes (rectangle, circle, freehand etc.) can have different amounts of weight, friction and restitution (bounciness) as well as different colors, opacity, outlines and can be made draggable with the mouse or intangible to other objects. Motorized joints can have different speeds, strength, bounded movement ranges and can be set to cycle automatically. Textboxes can be added to the map (for instructions) or onto objects as decoration.
Multiplayer is possible, but limited, both players would have to share the keyboard to control different bots, but the camera can only be set to track one object, so the map would need to be set to small or medium and the camera would have to be zoomed out.
The map can have different sizes, shapes (floating platform, enclosed box, empty map), backgrounds, terrain themes (grass, rock, sand, snow, moon etc.) and even different gravity.
Triggers can can be set up so that when a shape is touched an event is triggered. Players can share replays of hi-scores, challenge strategies and even animations. There is a limit on how many shapes that you can use (typically 500). When creating bots to complete a challenge there is a "credit limit" on how valuable the parts that you use can be and selected parts can be disallowed by the challenge creator (thrusters, cannons etc.).
