What is HUGH JASS MESSAGE?

This is a grateful knock-off of BIGASSMESSAGE.COM by Bjorn Johansson

  • The backend was flaky. Sometimes cannot save messages.
  • Hard to preserve the surprise: sending a link with the URL clearly saying bigassmessage.com makes it clear that there was hijinx involved.
  • Sometimes when the backend was slow, the placeholder with "BIG-ASS MESSAGE" before loading your message

Hugh Jass Message solves it with:

  • Querystring params: no datastore to speak of, just link with ?q=<MESSAGE> or ?r=<ROT13 MESSAGE>.
  • Obscured urls: while you can send folks to hughjassmessage.com, links by default go to hjm.wtf
