How to Use the App

After downloading and running Hi, Jay! you will need to log in with the help of a social network, using your Facebook or Vkontakte account, or register via email. After that, please fill in your personal profile, listing your native language, the foreign language you are studying, your city, age and a little information about yourself. The last step is necessary as it will give the potential teacher or student at least some idea of your personality, for the initial trust to develop.

The main window of the app shows all the Jays and appointments and their location on the map. All active project users, whose coordinates GPS is able to read, are called Jays. By the way, be sure to remember to start GPS before running the app! My Appointments window contains information about the confirmed future meetings and new messages. My Jays shows the list of people who have started a dialogue or agreed to a meeting. There is also a menu for profile settings and the option to contact the creators of the programme. Using Hi, Jay! is really very simple: locate a native speaker nearby (or within your city), send them an invitation to a meeting or just write in the chat. The rest depends entirely on you. Some users not only get good educational results, but also get to make some real friends.
