HestiaCP got my favorite CP, because it is lightweight and just works and is solid. The GUI is logical and one gets used to it very fast. On the other hand it's built "near-system" so you can edit service config files directly in the panel if needed. It has a file manager, which does it's job, but no terminal emulator. But meanwhile I use ssh for everything anyway. It's a full bundle for hosting websites on a VPS. Automatic installation, I use Debian 11, Ubuntu works as well. All included: Users, Websites (Domains/Subdomains), E-Mail incl. Spamfilter & Roundcube), System tools like firewall (iptables), brute force protection (fail2ban), reverse nginx proxy (!), DNS management, automatic backup for every user (local and/or to Backblaze). Hestia is updated together with Debian (apt upgrade) and shows if updates are available. The developers seem to be diligent and only add stable features/changes. I have running it for a year now on Hetzner and no downtime or problems whatsoever. Reboot is just under 10 seconds, much faster that CentOS/cPanel.
Despite claiming that you should ONLY use the latest LTS version of supported distros (this is the only recommended setup), as of September 2024 HestiaCP does not support Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. There is not even an APT repository for Ubuntu Noble and the installation script fails. In the forum, people asking for information about uninstalling HestiaCP are laughed at, with a questionable attitude.

Hestia is a phenomenal control panel for your VPS. I've been using it for a year now and it works great. It is very configurable and stable.
