There is some functionality with the free trial, but it is paid software. It works okay at converting files.
However, it alters the format. For example, when I tried to remove some items from a chm file, on recompiling, it changed some formatting such as tabs.
Though if you just want to decode to html there are better lightweight and free programs like CHM decode.
