What is Hashquery?

A Python framework for defining and querying BI models in your data warehouse.

Hashquery is a new toolkit for defining, importing, and executing your data models and business metrics. Expressions are defined in Python, compiled into SQL, and run directly against your data warehouse.

Use cases:

  • Portable Business Intelligence: Import and extend your BI logic in other applications, in notebooks, or anywhere else you can write Python.
  • Teach SQL new tricks: Create metrics that are hard (or impossible!) to write by hand in SQL, like funnel attribution and complex segmentation.
  • Alerting and validation: Write threshold alerts and unit tests against your business data and integrate them into your existing tech stack.
  • AI and LLMs (coming soon): Use LLMs to generate easy to understand Hashquery which follows the semantics that your data team defined upstream.
