There are more than 25 games similar to GeoGuessr for a variety of platforms, including Web-based, Android, iPhone, iPad and Android Tablet apps. The best GeoGuessr alternative is City Guesser, which is free. Other GeoGuessr like games are Guess Where You Are, GeoHub, Geotastic and Back Of Your Hand.

They also have a nice tutorial on how to add your own API key - You only need a credit card, then you get 200$ of free API requests each month.

Very good alternative to the subscription based GeoGuessr. Instead, either you can use ad-supported, or purchase a "contingent" via donation, that is used "as you use it". Frequent players/donators will unlock support tiers featuring ad-free Lobbys etc. Sadly it is not possible anymore to use the private API Key for even less payment (donation was not touched, instead the "free" API).

Back Of Your Hand is a map-based game where you're given random street names and you have to locate them on the map. The area can be anywhere in the world (it's not limited to Cork or Ireland). You can play solo or compete with others using multiple phones / computers.

GeoGuess is an open-source geography game with Google Map StreetView. You can play solo or with your friends simultaneously.
Very ncie OSS alternative to GeoGuessr (and GeoTastic, my fav). Can be selfhosted with a private api key, last time I have used it, I had no problems at all. Sadly it seems not to be under active development anymore (last update ATTOW June 2024, last real commit maybe early 2025? not sure)
