What is Fretlist?

Fretlist is a web app built for musicians who perform live. It gives you one place to store your chord sheets (lyrics + chords), transpose to any key, and build setlists for gigs and rehearsals.

No feature bloat. No MIDI integration, backing tracks, or expense tracking. Just your songs, organized and accessible from any device — phone, tablet, or laptop.

Fretlist was built by a gigging singer-songwriter who spent 15 years managing chord sheets across Google Docs, Apple Notes, .txt-files and paper printouts. It's designed to be simple, fast, and focused on what performing musicians actually need on stage. It serves as an alternative to OnSong, BandHelper and SongBookPro.

Key features:

  • Add or import songs with chords displayed above lyrics
  • Transpose to any key with one click
  • Build and reorder setlists per gig
  • Access everything on stage from any device
  • Share songs and setlists with other musicians
  • Export your data anytime (ChordPro, PDF, plain text) — no lock-in
  • Songs (titles & content) are encrypted (AES-256)

Fretlist is currently in Early Access with a growing community of musicians helping shape the product.
