What is FancyTran?
FancyTran is FREE and the most popular online translation app for BlackBerry with support for Google and Bing translation and text to speech pronunciation. It supports over 60 languages for translation and over 50 for pronunciation. Understands speech of 14 languages. It also has a dictionary for many languages and provides transliteration for non Latin languages. It also checks for spelling and accepts transliterated input which is nice if you don’t have that languages keyboard installed. Only online, no offline usage. For voice recognition press phone-talk button. "Remove Ads" in the free app requires an activation code. It can automatically detect the source of language as well as it integrates with the Blackberry Email, SMS and PIN. In addition, it supports multiple transports such as BIS, BES, TCP, WiFi and WAP2 and in the settings you can decide, if WiFi-Connection (or BIS, BES or TCP) is allowed or not.

Comments and Reviews
Version 2.2.2 is unfortunately not usable offline. Nevertheless FancyTran is the best and most popular online translation app using a 3G or WiFi Internet connection. On the BlackBerry 9860 FancyTran works absolutely perfectly and definitely better than the Blackberry App iTranslator 1.2, where the text input focus has been permanently lost on my BB 9860.
Perfect German voice-recognition, text-translation and Italian text-to-speech-output:
For voice-recognition by FancyTran the phone-talk-button must be pressed. German spoken texts are recognized perfectly correct as a German text on the display. Upon request, you can get also a perfect speech edition of the Italian translation. "Remove Ads" in the free app requires an activation code.
You can select translation with "Google Translate" or with Bing. If WiFi is allowed as a connection can be selected in the settings.
