Once I've gotten past their anti-adblock multiple times, the service is tolerable to use with my actions I take on my end. Since 2018 as a user, I've seen the service been refined and received a lot of improvements, with more to come from the looks of it.
Out of all of the available free services out there in the world, I still recommend Falix to this day as the go-to solution for getting a Minecraft server on Java or Bedrock, if you're looking for a company to host it for you. Alternatively, I would recommend selfhosting over this, if you have the hardware available.
The panel provided has gotten a lot of great updates this past year such as installers for addons, plugins, datapacks, mods, and even modpacks. There are also managers for worlds and players, along with a quick way to install a version of Minecraft even from other sources such as PaperMC, Purpur, Fabric, and more.
I would also like to disclaim, that I'm a former independent contractor for this company, a developer. I'm quite familiar with how the service works mostly and know the team quite well.
After registering it starts redirecting to an anti-adblock site even though I disabled all extensions and disabled it in settings, even tried second browser which is clean. This site is an adware and spyware and I suggest not giving them your email or your password.
For free I got modded MC server with 4GB of RAM and almost perfect ping for my location. The server is going down with no players present only after 20 minutes. You fully control what mods and plugins you want to install - there are no practical restrictions on them, although it may be a little bit more time consuming as you need to upload said files manually through gui on the site AND choose correct versions, otherwise your server will just crash. Only annoying stuff for me was that uploads are limited to 100MB per file, so if you want to upload your own worlds and such you have to solve that problem
