It can be useful when someone should not see that you're in a video call. Or even when you're driving a car and the app you want to use has no play-in-background feature. Then you can turn the screen black and have no distraction.

Its the best privacy focused black screen app while watching youtube, to open it, using the notification seems to be the best for me and to close it, its super intuitive, 4 taps or swipe up. Overall, I would recommend!

What is FakeStandby?

Most smartphones these days have long-living batteries, but who doesn't want their phone to last for just an hour more? While using an app, you maybe not necessarily need your display. So, why don’t turn it off? Up to 20% of your battery power is consumed by the display.

FakeStandby is an Android app to turn off your screen while keeping apps running. This includes foreground jobs, which means you can keep:

  • listening to music on YouTube
  • staying online on WhatsApp and other text messengers
  • running your favorite game all with your screen turned off.
