Both games have you extracting resources and moving them between buildings using conveyor belts, while defending your base from threats. Mindustry has relatively short session gameplay, whereas in Factorio bases are nearly endlessly expanded and upgraded.

Satisfactory is the first major game that took the Factory building concepts from Factorio and put them in a beautiful 3D environment. It pushes the same buttons in your brain that drive you to make everything bigger and more efficient. Satisfactory still lacks some of Factorio's automation features like blueprints (there are mods for that), which makes it a bit exhausting when the factory is getting bigger.

Also, if you enjoy the mass extinction of creepy aliens with thousands of laser turrets, you will be disappointed. In Satisfactory, you will have to kill the few "bad guys" with your almost bare hands (luckily, there are some hand held weapons and, of course, vehicles to run them over).

But if you like Factorio and want to try something just slightly different, Satisfactory is a no-brainer. It's simply one of the best alternatives to Factorio.

It's probably the most similar game there is even though it's very different in terms of graphics and so on. But it's great!

The Factory building is pretty much like Factorio, but in first person and 3D. Satisfactory doesn't have Alien/Tyranid/Zerg invasions, instead it adds some fun/comedy elements.

DSP is (one of) the rare game(s) following Factorio's mold that both definitely does something new and is not categorically outshone by its inspiration. ((i assume there are others))
