e.guardo Smart Defender is a protection application designed for DMZ or Internet-facing computers. It defends against Brute Force, DDoS, and Spoof Attacks using system log analysis rather than strict firewall rules. It protects a variety of services including RDP, MSSQL, FTP, SMTP, EXCHANGE, OWA, LYNC, MICROSOFT DYNAMICS CRM, SHAREPOINT, and more against Brute Force and Dictionary Attacks. It also secures services like Remote Desktop Protection, IIS, and MS FTP by analyzing system logs and health to reduce intrusion risk.

As an intrusion detection software, e.guardo Smart Defender monitors network services and logs to identify abnormal network traffic and prevent breaches. It uses dynamic security rules and a global blacklist of blocked IP addresses to protect your system. It's not a firewall, but it supports the native Windows Firewall and allows creation of custom modules to protect any network-enabled service. It offers built-in functionality for Windows Firewall and Cisco IOS devices, eliminating the need for scripting. It analyzes network traffic and blocks offenders using the native Windows Firewall or through your gateway.
