Dotveil information
What is Dotveil?
DotVeil is a developer-first, zero-knowledge secret management platform designed to replace insecure methods of sharing .env files like Slack, Discord, or unencrypted git commits.
It operates on a "blind server" architecture. Secrets are encrypted locally on your machine using AES-256-GCM before they are ever sent to the server. The server acts only as a storage and synchronization point for encrypted blobs and cannot decrypt your data.
Key Features:
Zero-Knowledge Architecture: The server has no access to your decryption keys. Developer-First CLI: Manage secrets directly from your terminal with dotveil push and dotveil pull. Secure Team Sharing: Share projects securely using public-key cryptography (RSA-4096). Multi-Environment Support: Easily manage separate secrets for Development, Staging, and Production. Self-Hostable: Open-source backend and CLI, so you can run it on your own infrastructure. Access Control: Role-based permissions (Owner, Admin, Viewer) to control who can view or modify secrets. DotVeil is the secure, open-source alternative to expensive enterprise secret managers or insecure manual sharing.
