What is DiskFresh?
DiskFresh is a simple yet powerful tool that can refresh your hard disk signal without changing its data by reading and writing each sector and hence making your disk more reliable for storage. It also informs you if there are any damaged/bad sectors so you know the right time to replace your disk. The best part is, unlike other tools it does all this when Windows is running and it does not interfere with the speed of your work at all.
Main Features:
- A very simple interface with an extremely powerful engine.
- Can refresh individual partitions or entire physical drive.
- Can also refresh only the selected area of the disk.
- Can work in read-only mode too so as to just inform about bad sectors.
- Supports command line for advanced usage.
- Can refresh system drive while Windows is running.

Comments and Reviews
Small and does exactly what it says. Not as fully featured as Spinrite, but can be used while Windows is running, even while using RAW low-level drive access.
I have been using this for a few years and it works well, with my drives regaining read and write speed after a refresh.
With drives that fail to boot or have lost their partition info, often you only need to refresh the first and last few blocks/cylinders of the drive, so this can be very quick to achieve.
Try this free tool before you spend over $100 on the alternatives.
This program requires you to run it in compatibility mode to run in Windows 8, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Not recommended. 👎👎👎
Works fine for me in Win 7 and 10 on 3 different systems. No compatibility mode needed. Probably an issue with your system.
