Comments and Reviews
It's hard to overstate how fantastic this program is. It does everything you could possibly need in the way of ripping and converting audio.
I set up a machine with FIVE CD drives (two internal and three external) and fired up five instances of dBpoweramp. Pointed each instance to a separate drive and then launched. It grabbed all the track names and artwork automatically, then ripped two separate copies of each album (mp3 and FLAC copies) to the directories I assigned.
I use every bit of open source and cross platform software I can. But this is a case where a commercial program made sense and was worth every penny. (They even gave me a discounted upgrade price from the older copy I bought around ten years ago.)
Great job, guys.
Not worth the insane cost for something free software manages just fine.
The software rips FLAC at top quality at the fastest speeds, but it crashes constantly, especially after each rip. It doesn't stop there, sometimes I have to restart the application several times before it decides to work again. Might as well use free software with longer ripping times just so you don't have to deal with this.
Oh, and I found that they haven't updated much of it since 2014.
I politely disagree. Every time I used this application it worked like a charm. Also the UI of it is really good. Speeds of conversion as really good as well.
Well worth the money. Very robust and well featured. Excels where other software fails.
