I used Cura because I picked up an Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro, and it's what Elegoo recommended.
I had all sorts of issues with stringing and retraction, which I thought was a problem with my printer. After 6 months of cleaning, troubleshooting, changing nozzles, recalibrating the bed, as a last gasp I switched to Orca Slicer and never looked back.
Orca Slicer is just so much more full-featured for an Elegoo printer, and it manages to print things that Cura just couldn't get right.

The degree of setting customization available with this software is excellent; though, it was at first a little intimidating.

Orca Slicer is just so much more full-featured for an Elegoo printer, and it manages to print things that Cura just couldn't get right.
Cura is also extremely slow (3-5 mins for a big slice that takes 30 seconds on my gaming PC in Orca Slicer)
Can't recommend this unfortunately.
To add to this, my printing issues were most prevalent down at 0.1mm; I'd get serious stringing or I'd get retraction issues where the nozzle would collide with the print, leading to the inevitable blob of death without intervention. I'd have to babysit all my prints from Cura as a result, so no overnight printing, which was a huge drawback.
Orca Slicer has none of these problems, and it actually seems to generate much more complete slices... for example, I can see it varying the fan speed throughout the print to ensure different layers get the appropriate cooling. Cura does nothing of the sort. You pick a speed and it's set for the whole print, which is a bit rubbish.
Also, forgot to mention that I can't get this running on Linux. The AppImage seems to segfault after the initial setup wizard. Orca Slicer works flawlessly.
Easy to work with, from data in to data out.
