On Ubuntu 20.04 I could only get the lighttpd version to work. So far so good. FYI every time you change the "Hours of allowed connections" (to the whole computer) settings to anything less than 24/7 all your apps will be closed and you will be force-logged-out, and will have to log back in (even if you've set it up so at the present moment you're in an allowed time window).

LE: After turning off "Blacklist filtering" it doesn't seem to want to turn it back on - clicking "Switch the Filter on" makes the page do a very delayed reload but it still looks the same afterwards, and every other option on the left-bar menu is still gone except "Hours of allowed connection". In fact, there's always an extremely delayed response to any change in the allowed connection settings as long as they're not set to 24/7 - it always takes 30+ seconds for the new settings to apply and for the forced-logout to happen.

LE2: I got 2 unscheduled forced-logouts today, this is not the behavior of a well coded app, I have to take another star off.

The site and wiki is only in French. :( So I couldn't try it.

What is ctparental?

CTparental is a parental control tool used to control how someone uses the computer, either for internet browsing or any other specific Computer usage. Design of CTparental was motivated by existing tools like iptables, dnsmasq, inguardian Privoxy which independently can do some parts but missing other pieces.

So in essence, CTparental leverage all these tools to create a fully-fledged parental control solution with an intuitive and easy to use web interface powered by lighttpd. Now that you know what CTparental, we can go ahead and install it on our Operating system.
